Welcome

* Call to Worship

Leader:     On the day of Pentecost, God gathered people from every nation and language.

People: The Holy Spirit drew strangers together as one community.

Leader: We come from different stories, backgrounds, and experiences.

People:      Yet God calls us beloved and binds us together in love.

Leader: This weekend, as our nation remembers those who gave their lives in service,

People:      We pray for peace, justice, and a world where violence is no more.

Leader: The Spirit still moves among us today — breathing hope into weary hearts, courage into fearful souls, and compassion into divided communities.

People:      Come, Holy Spirit, and form us into the Beloved Community.

Leader:       Let us worship God together.

People:       We come with open hearts, ready to receive the Spirit’s fire.

* Congregational Prayer

Holy God, on Pentecost you poured out your Spirit upon ordinary people and created an extraordinary community of grace. You gathered people across every barrier of language, culture, and fear, and you made them one in your love. Pour out your Spirit upon us again today. Where we are divided, bring understanding. Where we are fearful, bring courage. Where we are isolated, draw us into community. Where injustice wounds your children, awaken us to acts of mercy, truth, and compassion. As we gather on this Memorial Day weekend, we remember with gratitude those whose lives were given in service to others. May our remembrance deepen our commitment to the work of peace, reconciliation, and the dignity of every human being. Make us into the Beloved Community you desire — a people who reflect the love of Christ not only in word, but in action. Let this time of worship renew us for the work of justice, generosity, and hope. Come, Holy Spirit. Move among us and within us today. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
